Being very choosy and absolutely selective about where I dine out, the Azure Grand Mercure in Vadodara , was where I landed while I was there. As soon as we entered, the ambience was just so refreshing. The aroma of food just made my mouth water as we were very hungry. The décor of the restaurant stood to its class. There is a large painting in the restaurant which is very intriguing. I was really interested in it, thankfully the next day the manager told us a little about the painting.
We had actually just arrived during dinner time with empty stomach in the hope of trying something new. And our expectations were fulfilled as Azure is a ‘haven for foodies’. The huge variety in the menu ranges from Gujarati thali, non vegetarian, Chinese to all kinds of platter-punjabi, south Indian, tandoori. There was a buffet system as well. We tried on the exotic Gujarati thali on the second day and some non vegetarian cuisines.
The delicacies and cuisines that were offered were totally up to the mark. Ranging from the starters to the deserts, it just didn’t seem that we could stop ourselves from over eating. The delicious food just made our day. It took us almost three hours to try out all the delicacies. The blend of flavours that oozed in our mouth made us crave for more food. The taste was just so traditional. The hygiene was completely taken care of which was evident in the taste.
The service was prompt & the staff was hospitable. It was very well planned and well organised. At the end of our special dinner we spoke to the chef who was really kind to spare time for us as he was not feeling well. The presentation of the dishes was one of the most prominent features in Azure. The presentation of food was so attractive and fascinating.
The garnishing and the decoration added to the appearance of the dish. The desert was full of dry fruits and so rich. Though it was a sumptuous feast, craving of the taste buds was increasing. The ingredients really seemed to be fresh & original. The dishes were served in traditional utensils which was so fascinating. All in all, it was an amazing experience. I would love to go there again.
