The Brown Box – Little Treats!

This is my very first sweet recommendation post. If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter, I’m guessing you already know that I’m a cake lover and I’m always looking for a new Patisserie. My latest haunt is this extremely cute little Patisserie in Panchsheel, after Shah Rukh Khan tweeted about their banana loaf and cold coffee. The Brown Box is apparently owned by Priyanka Tiwari, Gauri Khan’s cousin. This place has quite a quaint location being away from Delhi’s usual hustle bustle. It has a huge garden area with proper seating arrangements. When you step inside, everything is pretty, delectable-looking, and perfectly arranged. They specialise in cupcakes, customised cakes cookies and various other sweet treats.

As soon I entered the cafe I spotted the tiny bitesize cupcakes on display which looked deceptively plain but cute. I was excited to try all of them, so we opted for four of the tiny cupcakes instead of the large ones. Four flavours : red velvet, vanilla, chocolate and banana. The cake on all four cupcake was very soft and moist but the red velvet cupcake stood out being extremely flavourful. Also, the frosting on the chocolate cupcake was amazing. Overall, I would recommend to try their cupcakes if not anything else.

I have always felt that rainbow cakes are merely a case of style over substance but after eating this one I would definitely change this thinking. The cake is composed of soft spongey layers of pretty hues, and frosted with a delicious chocolate frosting.  The cake is soft but dense and heavy. So, do not forget to brighten up your day by ordering a slice of the rainbow cake when you are there. This is one rainbow cake I would definitely eat again.

Apart from the sweet stuff we ordered for a grilled egg sandwich, cold coffee and Kangra Gold tea. They could improve the savoury menu by adding a few more items on it.
