No vacation is successful without a suitable accommodation, feasibility and comfort. While planning my trip to Singapore, I came across Yotel Singapore and was very intrigued by its concept. I am sure you all saw a lot on my Instagram stories but let me give you the details here.
Yotel Singapore is located right along the Orchard Road which is the main shopping belt of Singapore. Orchard Road has many shops and so many restaurants and cafés at a walking distance from the hotel. I really liked the location of Yotel. Taxis are available right outside the hotel, actually taxis are very easily available in Singapore. They are cheap compared to most countries I have used Taxis in. The MRT station is just 8 minute walk from the hotel. I tried and used the metro as much as possible (surprised?) because it is very very convenient and obviously so much cheaper compared to taxis.
After a thorough research I found out that the Yotel is inspired by the first class travel. Yotel provides new concept in the hospitality industry. They provide rooms which have an airline theme, cabins (the rooms) which are much bigger than the airlines itself with the views of Singapore skyline. Basically, they are trying to manage luxury living in a small space. I would say that they are very well priced given the location, view and the facilities that they are providing. Include the view in the tariff too because you are travelling to Singapore and not staying in a room with a view is just plain sad. I stayed in the premium queen cabin which is 152++ Singapore Dollars with breakfast. You check out the tariffs here for the rest of the room categories.
The cabins have exposed clothes rack, fixed toiletries and hidden panel cupboard. They have different room types :
- Premium queen
- Premium queen view
- Premium queen bunk
- Premium queen view bunk
- First class queen
- First class suite
- VIP suite
Unlike other hotels where you need to wait at the reception, hand your passport and other id proofs, Yotel helps you with the better services which provides self service at the counter stalls where you can create your own room key. It has 610 rooms, which makes it one of the biggest hotel in Singapore.
They have a super cool bed and it can be reclined and adjusted as per your liking. I have serious back issues but I was really surprised to see how comfortable it was. What I really liked about Yotel is how well they have used minimal space to provide you with all the luxuries.
With all the cool stuff that you will notice around the hotel, you cannot miss out on Yoshi and Yolanda, their in house robots who deliver all the basic amenities to your room when you call for it. It is amazing how they roam around the lobbies doing their job like a pro.
Located at the tenth level of Yotel, you will find Komyuniti with a working space and swimming pool. It’s a place where one can spend all day without getting bored. Fun part about this place is you can order mains as snacks and therefore indulge in variety. I live for such things as my appetite is really low. Although I didn’t get time to explore the restaurant here but definitely worth a try.
I was fascinated by their services, I travel a lot and have never experienced a stay like this. To sum up some of the things I loved :
- You can book directly with the hotel and get their best rates.
- Becoming the member of the Yotel, will get you 25% discount on the booking and other hotel expenditures.
- One of the best services I came across was you can book from anywhere and pay after you have arrived at Yotel.
- The most important thing, WiFi is available here with a very super high speed.
- The location of this hotel is everything.
- everything.I am so glad I experienced a stay at Yotel, I was really intrigued the moment I saw it online. It’s an experience everyone should try at least once.
Happy travelling!
